House Sandhurst

House Sandhurst is a new 3000sq.m. house on a 6000sq.m prime stand in Sandhurst was designed by Werner van der Meulen as an abstract sculptural edifice in an established garden with huge ancient trees around it.

Resembling huge granite boulders strewn around the site this turns the normal concept of a dwelling on it’s head.

Driving through a cleft between the “boulders” on arrives at a protected porte cochere from where you enter a three story “gorge” between the two wings.

The basement has parking for 16 cars and a private theater seating 30 people, with an entertainment space/ bar as part of this.

On the ground floor is an indoor pool, huge entertainment and barbeque area, commercial kitchen for large scale catering and a 250 sq.m. gymnasium.

The next two floors consist of private apartments for the owners and their two children.

Each apartment consists of a living room with open plan kitchen, dining room, study  and four suites.

The northern elevations on all three floors are completely glazed creating the impression of living in a tree house and TMS Cladding will be covering the glazing with approximately 2800sq.m of aluminium cladding. We are proud to be part of this dynamic project.
